This Blog Post Has Been Cancelled

It’s one of those things that sweeps the internet – “funny” rail announcements. This of course made the news recently because the voice of the London Underground was fired for making her own spoofs and posting them on her website. Well, it seems there were Cityrail (Sydney’s train authority) spoofs floating round a while back, that were apparently made by the slicing/dicing and re-stitching of real announcements.

Now, you may be wondering why we are coming to this meme so late. Well it seems there may be a station employee who figures that late in the evening is a great time to entertain everyone within a 5 block radius. That’s right, it turns out the PA system at the station below us really can go that loud!! Give that guard a comedy award – it’ll be compensation for his dismissal for broadcasting train stops such as “PenisTuggarah”

Here’s A Funny Place

As a by-product of native languages – and sometimes just downright silliness – there are a lot of amusing place names in the world. Working with financial news as I have been, I came across the location of one company’s iron-ore mine – Koolyanobbing.

I know! There are just so many funny things I could say I cannot possibly be expected to choose. I leave it up to your imaginations to create your own one liner.
