Dave came from Queensland in a box in early December. . . A friend of mine sent him to come stay with us. She said he was sweet, well behaved. She said she had raised him well.
She lied.
Everything started off okay:
But it didn’t take too long for Dave to find the wine rack, and I think that is where the trouble started. 
I guess it was my fault for leaving him alone and going to the gym. Honestly, I thought he’d be fine. He was just watching some TV.
By the time I got back he was bladdered.
What a nightmare! He was belligerent and kept shouting that he could take me, spouting some nonsense about a “square go.” Then the mess! He was sick everywhere.
I finally got him settled down.
He stayed on the sofa all day while I cleaned up after him! When Scott got home from work, he helped me get him into bed. It was so nice to have some peace for a few hours.
Of course now we feel like we can’t trust him to be alone in the house, so we take him everywhere with us, and I do mean EVERYWHERE! I think Dave actually feels bad about what happened, and he has been on his best behaviour for the last month, trying to earn our trust back, but it’s going to take time. However, I will admit to feeling a certain amount of satisfaction when he had his first hangover.
