British summer tans always remind us of our honeymoon. We were in Luxor, Egypt staying at a five star hotel. We were there to see tombs and temples and museums, and that’s exactly what we did- covered in sleeves and sunscreen despite the 45C (113 F) temperature, so we arrived back in Edinburgh as white as when we’d left. . .We, however, were the only ones. The rest of our hotel was filled with British holiday makers, who came soley for the sun. . .and the pool. Every morning when we arrived back from a pre-dawn excersion, we’d see them sleeping by the pool growing redder as the days progessed. A few weeks later on our flight home, there sat an older couple their skin the exact shade of the red on their matching England football strips. It was rather unfortunate.
