There’s not a lot more comforting when you’re poorly than a little gourmet ice cream. That’s right, today I’m nurse Scott. There have been a number of people going home sick at work, and I must have brought a bug home. I’m a little scratchy in the throat department, but unfortunately Amanda got the worst of it.
And yes, we know that you aren’t supposed to have dairy with a cold, but Maggie Beer has just released some fantastic ice creams. For those of you outside Australia, Maggie Beer is well-respected chef who produces a great line of gourmet foodstuffs mostly out of the Barossa Valley. We look forward to trying the Burnt Fig Jam, Honeycomb and Caramel, and are intrigued by the Quince and Bitter Almond, but we can tell you that the Vanilla Bean and Elderflower is a subtly flavoured treat.
For the rest of the evening we shall be getting plenty of rest to My Neighbour Totoro and Amanda’s favourite film for sick days, the 90s remake of Sabrina.
